Project Description:
My process typically begins with a fibre-felted canvas made using merino wool and silk onto which I layer paint and add other material. Incorporating paper into the canvas adds yet another dimension, creating a tactile experience that invites viewers to engage with my art on a visceral level. My glassless frames invite the viewer to immerse themselves completely in the sensory experience of the artwork - it comes alive.
My work is the observation of everyday life. I am inspired by anything that stirs an emotion. This is often nature driven, the landscapes of Hampshire and beyond, and the rivers and trees and their changes through the seasons. I am also inspired by everyday situations, how people relate to their surroundings and to each other.Try it!
