Description
"This self-portrait, taken on analogue instant film, belongs to an ongoing body of work exploring the intersection of the personal and the political. Shot in urban Athens, the image places the body in dialogue with its environment - graffiti on a wall becomes an involuntary backdrop, turning a private moment into a public statement. I work with analogue photography, particularly the Polaroid format, for its immediacy, its imperfection, and its resistance to digital manipulation. The instant image carries a physical weight that digital cannot replicate - it exists as an object, not just a file. My portraits are not constructed. I am interested in the unguarded moment, the face that has not yet decided what to show. In this image, the overexposed light, the tight crop, and the found text create a tension between vulnerability and witness - the subject looks back, aware of being seen."
