The Soldier — Sculpture (2026) takes the heavy black marks of the original 2018 figure and gives them physical consequence. Reduced almost to a symbol, its weapon-like upper form and stark legs become a monumental presence—the line no longer describes the figure; the line is the figure.
Conceived in polished black onyx, The Soldier pushes the weight of the original marks into three-dimensional space. What began as an instinctive drawing becomes a proposed public form: direct, human and built to occupy space.
