The artwork continues exploration of contemporary botanical observation through the language of contrast, rhythm and reduction.
The visual tension between flat gouache silhouettes and highly nuanced pencil drawing becomes a key conceptual element. Matte areas of color (stencil-applied gouache) establish structural simplicity while the transparent layered lines of the vines introduce sensitivity, movement and detail. Negative space plays a central role in the artwork allowing the composition to remain airy and open while emphasizing the organic unpredictability of natural growth. This dialogue between abstraction and observation reflects the artist’s ongoing interest in how plants occupy space intuitively rather than symmetrically.
